Viñales: "I felt really confident with the front"

Suzuki rider tops FP1 before ending Friday P2

Team Suzuki Ecstar rider Maverick Viñales had an incredible start to his British GP, as the Spaniard topped the first session of the weekend. Following on from his impressive morning pace, Viñales then moved it through into the afternoon to end up in second on the timesheets, behind a resurgent Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team). With the Suzuki finding cooler temperatures beneficial, Viñales enjoyed the conditions at the track - but knows there is still room for big improvements, especially in terms of his lines and riding style.

Maverick Viñales (P2): "I started with a good feeling and I felt really confident with the front so I could push. I feel like we can improve a lot with the lines and with my riding style but it's only Friday and I feel like I can improve much more. So I'm happy about that and we have a lot to improve for the race. We always feel competitive in cooler temperatures but we're getting better and better in the dry…but I'll be happy if it stays like this!"
