With the field led by Philipp Oettl (Schedl GP Racing), John McPhee (Peugeot MC Saxoprint) was second in Moto3™ morning warm up, as the Scottish rider moved up the timesheets at his home round. Francesco Bagnaia (PULL&BEAR Aspar Mahindra) was third fastest and will start the race from pole.
The grid were shuffled in the cooler weather, with Mahindra Racing's Stefano Manzi in P4, followed by Andrea Locatelli (Leopard Racing), Albert Arenas (Peugeot MC Saxoprint) and Maria Herrera (MH6 Laglisse).
Nicolo Bulega (Sky Racing Team VR46) was eighth, with Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold) just behind his compatriot and ahead of Lorenzo Petrarca (3570 Team Italia), who closed out the top ten.
