Pedrosa laments crash on pole position pace

Misano winner seventh on the grid at MotorLand after error in qualifying

Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) was fastest on Friday at MotorLand Aragon but the 3-time word champion suffered a crash with no consequences in qualifying to cut his session short. P7 by the time Q2 ended, Pedrosa will take heart from knowing that his victory on the Riviera di Rimini came from eighth on the grid - and the fact that he was right on the pace when the incident in qualifying occurred. With a great record at the track and a good rhythm in FP4, the rider from Sabadell is ready to push forward off the line to get in the front group.

Dani Pedrosa (P7): “I had a very strong pace in the last free practice, and in the qualifying session I was going very well. It’s a shame that I crashed when I was riding at practically the pole position time on my best lap, as I think we could have taken a spot on the front row, something we have found hard lately. Now we must forget this and concentrate on the race, in which setting a good pace, the tyre choice and gaining as many places as possible on the first lap will be key.”
