Lorenzo Baldassarri (Forward Racing Team) took to the top late in Moto2™ FP1, before confirming his pace with another final hot lap to end the session ahead of early leader Franco Morbidelli (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS). Swiss rider Tom Lüthi (CarXpert Interwetten) completed the top three.
Dominique Aegerter (Kiefer Racing) was top Suter after a late leap up the timesheets, ahead of fellow Suter rider Marcel Schrötter (Dynavolt Intact GP). Remy Gardner (Tech 3 Racing) impressed to take P6, ahead of veteran Italian Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team).
2014 Moto3™ World Champion Alex Marquez (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) was eighth fastest and suffered a fast lowside at Turn 3 – rider ok – with Sandro Cortese (Dynavolt Intact GP) and Hafizh Syahrin (Petronas Raceline Malaysia) completing the top ten.
South American representative Yonny Hernandez (AGR Team) was P22 as the Colombian rider gets used to life in Moto2™.
