Sunday Guide:

- RBA BOE Racing Team's Gabriel Rodrigo has qualified on pole position for the first time in his career. This is the first ever pole position for a rider from Argentina in the lightweight class and the first in any class since Sebastian Porto was on pole position in the 250cc class at Phillip Island in 2004.

- Rodrigo will be aiming to become the first Argentinean rider to stand on the podium in the lightweight class since Willy Perez finished third at Spa in 1986. No rider from Argentina has ever won a race in the lightweightclass of Grand Prix racing.

- This is the first pole position from a KTM rider this year and the first since Brad Binder in Sepang 2016.

- Marinelli Rivacold Snipers rider Romano Fenati qualified in second, his fifth front row start of the season and his best qualifying result since he was on pole in Mugello last year.

- Juanfran Guevara (RBA BOE Racing) qualified in third, his fifth front row start in Moto3™. He will be aiming to win his first grand prix race in his 82nd start.

- Heading the second row is Joan Mir (Leopard Racing), he finished eighth in Brno last year during his rookie season in the Moto3™ class, one week after winning his first race in Austria.

- Third in the Championship, EG 0,0's Arón Canet qualified in 17th - his worst qualifying result since Australia last year where he stood on the podium for the first time of his career.

- Last year’s Moto3™ winner at Brno, John McPhee (British Talent Team), is in 19th on the grid. McPhee and Red Bull KTM Ajo's Niccolò Antonelli (2015) are the only two current Moto3™ riders to have had a GP victory at Brno.

- Jakub Kornfeil (Peugeot MC Saxoprint), the only Czech rider in Moto3™, will start from 24th on the grid.  He will be aiming to become the first Czech rider to finish on the podium at Brno since Lukas Pesek in 2007.
