Viñales top in FP4

The Spaniard did not let a difficult Day 1 get in the way during final practice

Currently sitting third in the Championship overall, Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) has shown his metal after topping the timesheets in FP4 at the Aragón GP. Quicker than both Repsol Honda Team riders Dani Pedrosa and defending 2016 MotoGP™ Champion Marc Marquez, the young Yamaha rider finished with a best lap of 1’48.709.

Pol Espargaró (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) improved on his times from Saturday morning to take fourth in the last practice session - resulting in an all-Spanish top 4 for the premier class.

Alvaro Bautista (Pull&Bear Aspar Team) was one of four incidents during final practice – making it a touch to the back wheel of Pedrosa that brought his Ducati down at turn 15. Pedrosa stayed upright and Bautista re-joined to continue the session. Sam Lowes (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini) had his second crash of the day, joining Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda), and Marquez as the other spills – all riders ok.
