Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) has had a tough start to the year, but at Barcelona he put his first big finish of the year on the board – coming home fifth after battling with Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda Castrol), the Brit just getting the edge. But from P11 on the grid, it was a positive Sunday.
“Overall it was a positive race, coming from eleventh and finishing fifth,” says Pedrosa. “We should look at the positives because it was a tough weekend, but the mechanics gave me a little more confidence to be a little better in some points.”
There were a few points where the number 26 was losing out, however – and he had good reference points.
“Compared to Cal, Maverick and Petrucci in the middle of the corner and at the exit, I was lacking some performance,” explains the three-time World Champion. “I was strong in braking – maybe too much – and we have to analyse that and see how we can improve.”

There’s a day for that back on track on Monday for the Official Test, before MotoGP™ heads for Assen.
