Aegerter fastest in tight FP1

Former winner at the venue back on top as action opens in Germany

Dominique Aegerter (Kiefer Racing) went fastest in FP1 at the Pramac Mottorad Grand Prix Deutschland, but it was tight at the top as the 2014 winner at the venue edged out Andrea Locatelli (Italtrans Racing Team) by just 0.026 and Lorenzo Baldassarri (Pons HP 40) by 0.029.

Earlier in the session it had been KTM domination throughout the top ten and the showing for the Austrian factory remained impressive to the end – with Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) in P4, Iker Lecuona (Swiss Innovative Investors) completing the top five and his teammate Sam Lowes in P7, just behind Alex Marquez.

Marquez was one who suffered an off track excursion, as did tenth-placed Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) as the South African suffered a crash, rider ok.

Romano Fenati (Marinelli Snipers Team) was top rookie in P8 and Augusto Fernandez (Pons HP40) impressed in ninth.
