Vierge undergoes successful operation

The Spaniard suffered a fracture and dislocation at the base of his fifth metacarpal after a heavy crash in Austrian GP qualifying

Xavi Vierge (Dynavolt Intact GP), who crashed at Turn 1 in qualifying for the Austrian GP after an incident with Steven Odendaal (NTS RW Racing GP), ​​has undergone a successful operation after suffering a fracture and dislocation at the base of his fifth metacarpal.

The Spaniard flew back to Barcelona, with the surgery performed by Dr. Xavier Mir and his team held on Monday morning at the University Hospital Quirón Dexeus.

Vierge will remain under observation for a further 24 hours and will begin his rehabilitation programme in five days.
