Misano: private testing on Sunday

A few teams head for the Riviera di Rimini this weekend for a little more action ahead of the British GP

This Sunday there may not be a MotoGP™ race, but there will be some track action, with several teams descending on Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for a private test day on Sunday. Most notably, it's a test that Movistar Yamaha MotoGP will be attending as they continue to look for solutions for their ongoing issues.

At the Austrian GP, the team apologised to the riders for the difficult weekend they'd endured. It's now Valentino Rossi's (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) win at Assen last season since they were on the top step, and although the rider from Tavullia took sixth in Spielberg, teammate Maverick Viñales came twelfth and they'll both be eager to maximise track time.

Aprilia Racing Team Gresini riders Aleix Espargaro and Scott Redding will also be present at the test. A new chassis, new swingarm and new engine evolution are expected on the agenda. Ducati will also be on track, although arrive at the Italian track from two victories in a row.

Rookies Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda Idemitsu) and Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) are also expected in action.

After the test, Ducati and Yamaha will both have one private test day remaining for the season.
