- Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) takes pole: he’ll have secured pole position at every circuit on the current calendar in the premier class.

- A Japanese rider gets on the podium in Moto3™: it will be the first Japanese lightweight class podium since 2010 (Tomoyoshi Koyama – German GP).

- Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) gets on the podium: it will be his 50th premier class podium.

- Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) wins: he’ll become the fifth oldest Grand Prix winner in the premier class at 39 years, 247 days.
