Dovizioso, Marquez, Crutchlow the top three in Warm Up

Pole man heads the Championship leader by over two tenths on Sunday morning with the British rider close for company in P3

Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) picked up where he left off on Saturday afternoon as the Italian rider went quickest in morning Warm Up at the Motul Grand Prix of Japan, a 1:45.409 enough to better Championship leader Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) by 0.271, with Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda Castrol) continuing to be on the leading duos coat-tails this weekend - P3 for the Briton.

Team Suzuki Ecstar fill out P4 and P5 in Warm Up, Andrea Iannone leading teammate Alex Rins, with the two Movistar Yamaha MotoGP riders then line astern – P6 for Valentino Rossi, P7 for Maverick Viñales. Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) starts the race from P2 on the grid, he ended the session down in P10, with third in qualifying Jack Miller (Alma Pramac Racing) down in P19.

Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini) and Karel Abraham (Angel Nieto Team) both crashed – riders ok.

Tensions now start to build as we await the premier class riders to joust in Japan at 14:00 local time (GMT +9). Can Dovi deny Marquez’ magnificent seven celebrations? It’s nearly time to find out…
