The final preseason test awaits for Moto2™, Moto3™ riders

Intermediate and lightweight classes will be in Qatar from 1-3 March to conclude their testing regimes ahead of the new season

Round 1 of the 2019 season is just around the corner but before that kicks off next week, the Moto2™ and Moto3™ riders have three days of preseason testing to complete in Qatar on 1-3 March.

Both classes spent three official test days at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto between 20-22 February last week, but now comes an important three days on a different track to confirm their feelings from southern Spain.

In Moto2™, it was Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Brad Binder who set the quickest time in Jerez with a 1:40.982, with second place Sam Lowes (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) a slender 0.007 off. Will it be those two who will set the pace at the Losail International Circuit again ahead of the race there on 10th March?

While in the Moto3™ class, Jaume Masia (Bester Capital Dubai) was the quickest man over the three days in Andalucia. But a crash at Turn 2 on the final day left the Spaniard with three fractures toes, putting his opening Grand Prix weekend in major doubt. With Masia sidelined, will it be the returning Romano Fenati (Snipers Team), Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Leopard Racing) – who were second and third fastest in Jerez respectively – or someone else who will take top spot honours at the Qatar Test?

Keep up to date with all the times across the three days with Live Timing on motogp.com from 14:00 local time (GMT +3). Reports from both classes and interviews with the three fastest riders from each day in both classes will also be available, so get your final dose of Moto2™ and Moto3™ preseason action right here before the season starts in just over a week’s time.
