Australian rider, Damian Cudlin, who made his MotoGP debut last week in Japan, is set to replace the injured Héctor Barberá for this weekend’s Iveco Australian Grand Prix.

Profile
Cudlin grew up racing motocross, winning his 1st Australian Championship at 12 then dominating in his age group for the next 5 years. Cudlin moved to roadracing on 80cc machines then 125cc. At 17, he made the jump to 1000cc bikes, winning his debut Australian Superbike race ahead of Factory riders. At 18 went to Europe to catch one off rides, until landing a factory ride in Australian Superbikes.From 2005 on he was a frontrunner in the World Endurance and IDM Supersport Championships. His first GP appearance was in 2010 with team Pons/Kalex Moto2 in a stunning ride to 7th at Sachsenring. In 2011 he replaced an injured Loris Capirossi on the Pramac Ducati in Japan, followed by Hector Barbera on the Mapfre Aspar Team at Phillip Island.
