Ratthapark Wilairot joined the 250cc World Championship in 2007 as a member of the Thai Honda PTT SAG team. The arrival of the Thai rider on the world scene was a result of an agreement between A.P. Honda of Thailand and Spanish based Stop and Go Team, providing Wilairot with the opportunity to ride a Honda RS250R A-Kit. Wilairot competed in the 2006 Japanese GP as a wild-card and finished a respectable 10th after qualifying in 14th place and the same season he finished as the runner-up in the challenging Japanese national Championship.

In his debut World Championship campaign he gained experience at GP circuits round the world, achieving nine point-scoring results and ending up 17th in the general standings. In 2008 Wilairot scored points on 14 occasions achieving several top ten finishes and improving his ranking to 13th in the general classification. The improving Asian starlet competes in his third full campaign for the Thai Honda PTT SAG team in 2009, with the top ten in his sights.
