Born in the Italian city of Pesaro 19 years ago, Simone Grotzkyj participates in his second full season in the 125cc World Championship in 2007, hoping to improve on last year's results. Grotzkyj got his first taste of Grands Prix as a wild-card at Mugello in 2005. He completed his first full season in 2006 with the Campetella Junior Racing team, who provided him with the chance to race on an Aprilia – with his best performance of the campaign seeing him finish 16th in the Japanese GP in Motegi. Having learned his way around the various circuits of the World Championship and with a season of experience under his belt, Grotzkyj aims to do well in 2007, again riding on an Aprilia, this time alongside Raffaele De Rosa and Dominique Aegerter for Multimedia Racing.
