Ducati Team out of Valencia GP in Turn one

After a positive first two days during the final round of the 2011 MotoGP season, the Ducati Team had an unfortunate and premature end to the Valencia Grand Prix, with riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden both being taken out of the race in a Turn 1 racing incident.

Ducati Team Information:

The Ducati Team is the full factory Ducati Corse backed team in the MotoGP Championship. Headquartered in Bologna, Italy, the squad made its re-entry into the Championship in 2003 after a 30 year absence. Running Desmosedici GP11 machinery, the outfit is directed by MotoGP Project Director, Alessandro Cicognani with team management provided by former racer Vittoriano Guareschi, who was Ducati’s chief development rider until assuming the role as team manager in 2010.

In its eighth year of its return to Grand Prix racing, the Ducati MotoGP Team enters the 2011 season with nine time World Champion Valentino Rossi, who made his move from the Factory Yamaha team for his eleventh premier class season. The Italian joins American Nicky Hayden who is in his third year with the Ducati MotoGP Team and his ninth season of MotoGP racing.
