Rizla Suzuki is the official factory backed team of Suzuki in the MotoGP World Championship, with its roots in MotoGP reaching as far back as 1974. Suzuki’s motorcycle operations are based at Hamamatsu in Japan, with the MotoGP team headquarters residing at Verwood in Dorset, England, and Paul Denning providing team management.

For the 2011 season, the team is fielding only one rider aboard the GSV-R machine with no replacement for Loris Capirossi, who moved to the Pramac Racing team. Álvaro Bautista remains, entering his second year with the Rizla Suzuki outfit for his second season in the premier class.
