Ratthapark Wilairot est arrivé dans le Championnat du Monde 250cc en 2007 en tant que pilote du team Thai Honda PTT SAG. L’arrivée du pilote thaïlandais sur la scène mondiale résulte d’une accord entre A.P. Honda Thaïlande et lu team espagnol Stop and Go, qui fournirent à Wilairot une Honda RS250R A-Kit. Wilairot participa au GP du Japon 2006 en wildcard et termina dixième en partant de la 14è position. Il remporta le titre de vice-Champion dans le Championnat du Japon la même saison.

Découvrant les circuits du Championnat du Monde lors de sa première saison en Grand Prix, il se classa dans les points à neuf reprises et termina 17è dans le classement général. En 2008, Wilairot fut dans les points quatorze fois, plusieurs fois dans le top dix, et grimpa à la 13è place au général. La star asiatique effectue en 2009 sa troisième saison avec le team Thai Honda PTT SAG, avec le top dix en ligne de mire.
