After the second round of the Moto3™ Junior World Championship at the circuit of Le Mans (France) during the MotoGP™ World Championship event, the FIM CEV Repsol returns to its usual format. At MotorLand there will be two races in both the Moto2™ and Superbike classes, and one race in Moto3™.
Marcos Ramírez currently leads the Moto3™ Junior World Championship, as he has done since winning the first race of the season in Valencia, although Lorenzo Dalla Porta (ITA-Husqvarna) is now only six points adrift. The Italian, on pole in both Valencia and Le Mans, took his first win of the season in France while the Leopard Junior Stratos team rider failed to make the podium for the first time this year. Kaito Toba (JPN-Honda) holds third place, just one point behind Lorenzo Dalla Porta, so the outcome of Sunday's Moto3™ race in Alcañiz could bring big changes in the overall standings. Jaume Masia (SPA-Honda) returns at MotorLand after missing the second race in Valencia and the Le Mans race with a sprained left wrist from a fall on the last lap of the opening round. In the Moto3™ Production category, Aleix Viu (SPA-Honda) still leads, nine points ahead of Héctor Garzo (SPA-Honda).
In the Moto2™ European Championship, Steven Odendaal's (RSA-Kalex) second position in the first race and victory in the second of Valencia put him at the top of the intermediate class. In fact, the top four classified were the stars at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, alternating places on the podium. The first race was won by Eric Granado (BRA-Kalex), followed by Odendaal and Alan Techer (FRA-NTS NH 6), with Federico Fuligni (ITA-Kalex) in fourth. In the second Granado went down and the South African AGR Team rider won ahead of Techer and Fuligni. The two races at MotorLand promise plenty of excitement with the addition of riders such as Remy Gardner (AUS-Kalex Honda), Xavier Pinsach (SPA-Tech3) and Tetsuta Nagashima (JPN-Kalex). In Superstock 600, Jacopo Cretaro (ITA-Yamaha) is the man to beat after finishing first in the category in both races in Valencia, holding off Ivo Miguel Paixao (POR-Kawasaki) and Alexei Ivanov (USR-Yamaha).
Reigning Superbike European Championship champion Carmelo Morales (SPA-Yamaha) will be looking to come back from the problem he suffered in Valencia when his rear tire lost pressure forcing him to drop out. Chilean Maximilian Scheib (CHI-BMW) is the category leader followed by Alejandro Medina (SPA-Yamaha) and Santiago Barragán (SPA-BMW), who were the podium riders in the first race of the season. Niko Makinen (FIN-Yamaha) leads the Superbike Privateers class after winning the first race ahead of Óscar Climent (SPA-Yamaha) and Guillermo Llano (SPA-Yamaha).
