Lorenzo: “I could get through the day quite well”

Despite some pain from his crash on Sunday, Jorge Lorenzo had a productive test in Barcelona with the second fastest time.

There’s no time to rest when you’re fighting it out in the World Championship, Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) right back out on track after a difficult Catalan GP. Michelin brought along the front tyre from the Jerez test as well as three new rears, making it a busy Monday for Lorenzo who also continued to work on improving his YZR-M1. He initially had some lingering pain from his crash with Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team) on Sunday but was able to work without restriction after some painkillers. In the afternoon Lorenzo shifted his attention to setting a fast lap, completing a 1’44.202 after having already completed a full race run. The time saw him top testing until the final five minutes when Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) eventually pushed him to second.

Jorge Lorenzo: “It was a positive test. After my crash yesterday I felt quite some pain, especially in my leg, but some pills made me feel better, so I could get through the day quite well. I tried many things, especially some new tyres from Michelin on the rear, some of the them had quite a positive effect on acceleration, and a new chassis from the team, which also gave us some positive points that we will test further tomorrow.”
