Pedrosa: “I like the Sachsenring very much”

With six wins at the German track there’s little doubting Dani Pedrosa’s speed there, but can he beat his teammate?

On four occasions Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) has stood on the top step of the podium at the Sachsenring in the MotoGP™ class, adding to his two 250cc wins there. He and teammate Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) are the two most successful riders at the track and have helped Honda go undefeated since 2009. The last three years have seen Marquez as the man to beat, can Pedrosa de-throne his teammate and retake his title as lord of the Sachsenring?

Pedrosa has won 28 races in the MotoGP™ class, taking at least one victory every year since he was a rookie. Unfortunately Pedrosa has not found the form to add to his victories in 2016 yet, the Spaniard still working to get his Honda behaving as he wants. The flash of speed he showed in Barcelona was buried by a disastrous weekend in Assen.

Dani Pedrosa: “I like the Sachsenring very much; it’s definitely one of my favourite tracks on the calendar. I have very good memories there, and together with my team, we’ll try to make the best use of what we’ve learned from the last races. It was a pity that we didn’t get a better result in Assen, where our strategy was perfect for the first part of the race, but the positive is that we know we’ve worked well in demanding conditions. We’ll try to do the same in Germany.”
