Bastianini tops FP1 in Brno

The ‘beast’ fastest in the first session of the #CzechGP

Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Moto3) went fastest in the first Free Practice session of the HJC Helmets Grand Prix České Republiky in Brno, as the Italian left it to a late charge to take control of the timesheets – just taking the honours from Jorge Martin (PULL&BEAR Aspar Mahindra Team). Spaniard Martin also put his time in late, setting his fastest lap on an effort than included a last corner overtake.

Championship leader Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) completed the top 3 in FP1, with the South African keeping his form rolling as the second half of the season begins. Local rider Jakub Kornfeil (Drive M7 SIC Racing Team) impressed to cross the line in P4, with Binder’s closest championship rival Jorge Navarro (Estrella Galicia 0,0) completing the top 5.

Sky Racing Team VR46’s rookie Nicolo Bulega put in a good first session in P6, beginning a run of Italians that completed the top ten with Francesco Bagnaia (PULL&BEAR Aspar Mahindra), Andrea Migno (Sky Racing Team VR46), Fabio DiGiannantonio (Gresini Racing Moto3) and Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold.)
