'DesmoDovi' focusing on fitness for Silverstone

Italian concentrating on getting over crash in testing

Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) crashed in the latter stages of the Ducati Team's recent private test at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, twisting his right knee, and the GP winner has had his Silverstone preparations set back slightly as he fights back to full fitness. Now a podium finisher in the dry in 2016 and last year crossing the line at the British GP in P3 in the wet, the Italian is looking forward to the venue as one he likes - and is fighting hard to be at 100%.

Andrea Dovizioso: “I really could have done without that crash at Misano, but I’m working with my physiotherapist to do everything possible to be OK for Silverstone. My right knee is still giving me some pain but I’m undergoing intense physiotherapy. In any case Silverstone is one of the tracks I prefer: it’s really great even though it is very difficult. I think that we can also be competitive here, seeing as last year I managed to get onto the podium with a third place in the race.”
