Laverty and Miller top Q1

An Irishman and an Australian walk through to qualifying 2...

Eugene Laverty (PULL&BEAR Aspar) was the quickest man on track in the rain-affected first qualifying session for MotoGP™, after a wet FP4 had also seen the Irishman a protagonist. Laverty beat wet Assen winner Jack Miller (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) to the top spot, but both men graduate to Q2 as the fight for the top grid positions continues.

Loris Baz (Avintia Racing) was third quickest in a solid session for the Frenchman, and he will start from P13. Danilo Petrucci (Octo Pramac Yakhnich) was fourth fastest, ahead of Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Pol Espargaro. Just behind the former Moto2™ world champion was stand-in teammate Alex Lowes, who had a stunning wet session, with Stefan Bradl (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini), Hector Barbera (Avintia Racing), Alvaro Bautista (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini), Yonny Hernandez (PULL&BEAR Aspar) and Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) completing the grid.
