Under the streaks of blue cutting through the remnants of Friday's grey skies at Silverstone, it was Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) who seemed to be on course to top Moto3™ FP3, before EG 0,0 rider Jorge Navarro struck back after also proving fastest on Friday. The Spaniard, who was on pole position for the first time at Silverstone last season, recently signed to move up to the Moto2™ class and needs a comeback charge in the second half of the season as key rival Binder streaks ahead in the points standings. The Valencian was an incredible seven tenths clear of the field, which could bode well for a second consecutive pole at the British GP. His teammate, Aron Canet, put in an impressive late lap to go P3.
Binder was second fastest on a solid hot lap that had put him a couple of tenths clear at the top, but some traffic then hindered his rhythm. The South African remained second quickest after initially heading the session however, and will be looking to cut the gap in qualifying. Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Moto3) and Jorge Martin (PULL&BEAR Aspar Mahindra) completed the top five, ahead of Czech GP winner and home hero John McPhee (Peugeot MC Saxoprint). Juanfran Guevara (RBA Racing Team) was P7, with Hiroki Ono (Honda Team Asia), Nicolo Bulega (Sky Racing Team VR46) and Fabio Quartararo (Leopard Racing) completing the top ten.
Friday frontrunner Francesco Bagnaia suffered a mechanical problem that saw the Italian forced to sit the latter few minutes of the session out. Moto 3™ qualifying gets underway at 12:35 local time (GMT +1).
