Nakagami tops FP1

Japanese Assen winner quickest out the blocks on the Riviera di Rimini

Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) went quickest in the first practice session for the intermediate class at Misano World Circuit, with winner last time out Tom Luthi (Garage Plus Interwetten) slotting into P2 after proving quickest for much of the session. Luthi also suffered a crash, but was unhurt and retained his place on the timesheets. Reigning champion and points leader Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) was third quickest.

Lorenzo Baldassari (Forward Racing) lead the home charge for Italians at Misano in P4, ahead of Intact Dynavolt GP's Jonas Folger. Another Italian Simone Corsi (Speed Up Racing) was sixth, ahead of title contenders Sam Lowes (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) and Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40). Marcel Schrotter (AGR Team) was P9, with Sandro Cortese on the second Intact Dynavolt GP machine completing the top ten.
