Lowes first to lead the field at MotorLand

Brit tops first Moto2™ practice session of the weekend

Sam Lowes (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) put in the quickest lap of MotorLand Aragon in FP1 by less than half a tenth from Brno winner Jonas Folger (Dynavolt Intact GP), with Assen victor Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) completing the top 3 as action got underway in Aragon.

Simone Corsi (Speed Up Racing) was fourth quickest after briefly topping the session, with second Dynavolt Intact GP rider Sandro Cortese completing the top 5.

Championship leader Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) was sixth, ahead of Garage Plus Interwetten rider Tom Luthi and Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS' Franco Morbidelli. Zarco's key title rival and hometown hero Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) was ninth, with AGR Team's Marcel Shrotter taking P10.

FP2 sees Moto2™ back out after MotoGP™ on Friday afternoon at MotorLand.
