Bagnaia tops Moto3™ FP3

Improving conditions see laptimes begin to lower

FP3 for the lightweight class at Phillip Island saw some sunshine breaking through and conditions beginning to improve, with the track drying but some treacherous wet patches remaining.

Francesco Bagnaia (Pull&Bear Aspar Mahindra) topped the session from teammate Jorge Martin, with John McPhee (Peugeot MC Saxoprint) ending the session third. Andrea Locatelli (Leopard Racing) was fourth fastest, with Estrella Galicia 0,0 rider Aron Canet completing the top five.

Fabio Quartararo (Leopard Racing) was a constant frontrunner and ended the session in sixth on his first ride at the venue after an injury-affected 2015, with RBA Racing’s Gabriel Rodrigo, Platinum Bay Real Estate rider Marcos Ramirez and Honda Team Asia’s Hiroki Ono in P7, P8 and P9 respectively.

Newly-crowned 2016 Moto3™ World Champion Brad Binder locked out the top ten.
