Rossi: “Malaysia is very physically demanding”

Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) comes into the Malaysian GP from a stunning ride from fifteenth on the grid in Australia to get onto the podium – moving clear of teammate Jorge Lorenzo in the fight for P2 in the title after Lorenzo had a tough race. Sepang International Circuit is now a different kind of challenge, with incredibly high track and ambient temperatures – pushing man and machine to the limit. The ‘Doctor’ is the most successful rider at the track with six premier class wins – the last of which coming in 2010. 2016 sees Rossi aiming squarely at another podium result.

Valentino Rossi: “Sepang is one of my favourite tracks. I like it a lot, but it‘s also one of the most difficult races of the season due to the weather. It is always very hot and you must always be very careful with what you eat and drink. The weekend in Malaysia is very physically demanding, but I‘m in good shape. The weekend on Phillip Island was very complicated but in the end we did a good race and I‘m happy for that. I hope that in Malaysia we can be able to work well again from the first practice. I would like to make it a good race and get on the podium another time.”
