Lorenzo: “I’m leaving Qatar optimistic”

Best day of three at the #QatarTest for the ‘Spartan’

Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team) had a positive final day at the final preseason test, making even more progress as he settles into life in red. Ending the session in P4 and incredibly close to both Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) and Ducati teammate Andrea Dovizioso up ahead, Lorenzo topped the sheets in the initial track action before ending the day in fourth.

The five-time World Champion’s best was a 1:54.519 with another 53 laps on the milometer.

Jorge Lorenzo, P4: “Today was a much more positive day than the first two. In general things went very well and I achieved my best position in the three official 2017 tests. We upped the pace quite a lot and I also managed to set some good times, but we still have to work on the race pace and, with the GP in mind, also decide which tyres to use. We still have a lot of work to do, but on this track I think we can score a good result and so I’m leaving Qatar optimistic about the first race.”
