Lorenzo: “We’re finding the way little by little”

Day 1 sees a lot of big names outside the top ten – including the 2010, 2012 and 2015 MotoGP™ World Champion

Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team) ended Friday at the Gran Premio Motul de la Republica Argentina in P18 on the timesheets following a difficult day dampened by front tyre selection – but the ‘Spartan’ wasn’t the only big name outside the top ten, as teammate Andrea Dovizioso, Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) and Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) all joined the Mallorcan outside of provisional automatic graduation to Q2. With weather looking uncertain for Saturday, the Ducati Team will be hoping for a dry FP3 to move forward.

Lorenzo says they’re finding the way forward little by little – and on the agenda for tomorrow is mid-corner front stability.

Jorge Lorenzo, P18: “The position is very bad at the end, because we couldn’t profit from the soft rear tyre. Also, we made a mistake choosing the soft front – we misunderstood the planning a little and chose the wrong one, and the conditions were too hot. But I felt quite good in the previous exit, I was very confident – but I couldn’t profit from the soft tyre and be in the front. We need to improve a little bit the stability in the middle of the corner in the front, because it’s very free we can’t turn as we want. But we’re finding the way little by little to improve the feeling.”
