Polesitter John McPhee (British Talent Team) topped the first session of the day ahead of the Gran Premio Motul de la Republica Argentina, ahead of Niccolo Antonelli (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Andrea Migno (Sky Racing Team VR46), who completed the top three. Qatar podium finisher Jorge Martin (Del Conca Gresini Moto3) and Darryn Binder (Platinum Bay Real Estate) were fourth and fifth.
Livio Loi and Joan Mir (Leopard Racing), Fabio Di Giannantonio (Del Conca Gresini Moto3), Adam Norrodin (SIC Racing Team) and Südmetall Schedl GP Racing rider Philipp Oettl completed the top ten, setting up the field for a fantastic showdown at 13:00 local time (GMT -3).
