Oliveira strikes late to top FP1

KTM rider flies on his final lap to head the timesheets

Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Miguel Oliveira shot up to the top on his final effort in the first session of the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, taking the top spot from Championship leader Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) – with CarXpert Interwetten’s Tom Lüthi and second EG 0,0 Marc VDS rider Alex Marquez almost within the same tenth to complete the top four.

There were a number of crashers including Lorenzo Baldassarri (Forward Racing Team), Sandro Cortese (Dynavolt Intact GP) and Speed Up’s Simone Corsi and 2016 FIM Europe Supersport Cup winner Axel Bassani.
