Triumph announced as Moto2™ engine supplier from 2019

British marque set to power the intermediate class into the future

Triumph Motorcycles has been chosen as the exclusive engine supplier to the FIM Moto2™ World Championship from 2019, with the announcement coming at the Gran Premio d'Italia Oakley at Mugello on Saturday. The three year agreement between Triumph and MotoGP™ commercial rights holder Dorna Sports will see the British marque supply a dedicated race-tuned 765cc Triumph triple engine to the class, which is based on the powerplant from the all-new 2017 Triumph Street Triple.

The new engine is a significant development of the race-winning Daytona 675R powerplant that has powered Supersport wins at the Isle of Man TT, Daytona 200 and British Supersport Championships in 2014 and 2015 - with Moto2™ ready to add more incredible pedigree to the history of the class and legendary British manufacturer.
