Joan Mir (Leopard Racing) topped first practice at the Red Bull Ring, keeping his incredible form at the venue following his maiden win there last season. He suffered one run off but kept upright, then going faster towards the end of the session to go fastest by over three tenths. Aron Canet (Estrella Galicia 0,0) and Marcos Ramirez (Platinum Bay Real Estate) completed the top three.
