Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) took back the top of the timesheets in FP3, heading Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team) in a reverse of the 1-2 on Friday – with Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) completing the top three once again. Sandro Cortese (Dynavolt Intact GP) was just behind the Japanese rider, and was still within a tenth of the top in an incredibly tight top four.
There were a number of crashers including Hafizh Syahrin (Petronas Raceline Malaysia) and wildcard Steven Odendaal (NTS).
