Dovi leads Ducati 1-2-3 in vital FP1

Last year’s winner beat Lorenzo and Petrucci in what could be the only dry practice session of the weekend

Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) picked up where he left off in Brno as he shot to the top of the timesheets, setting a 1:23.830 to be the only rider under the 1:24 bracket at the eyetime Motorrad Grand Prix von Österrich. Teammate Jorge Lorenzo was second quickest in the session, 0.215 back, with fellow Ducati rider Danilo Petrucci (Alma Pramac Racing) rounding out the top three as the Desmosedici machines dominated the opening premier class session.

Championship leader Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) was fourth fastest, the Spaniard looking like he has strong race pace, with Andrea Iannone (Team Suzuki Ecstar) rounding out the top five on the circuit he won at in 2016.

It was a difficult session for Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) after his M1 Yamaha had a technical issue early in the session, with the ‘Doctor’ eventually ending the session down in 11th and with rain on the horizon, could that mean Rossi misses out on an automatic Q2 spot?

The forecast suggests FP2 for the MotoGP™ riders could be a wet session, so make sure you tune in to see if the likes of Rossi can get himself into the top ten at 14:05 local time (GMT +2).
