Reale Avintia Racing sign Abraham for 2019 and 2020

Czech rider will be on a GP18 next season as the team also confirm they'll be racing with Ducati machinery for two more years

Reale Avintia Racing have announced a two-year agreement with Karel Abraham that will see the Czech rider race with the team in MotoGP™ in 2019 and 2020. Next season he'll be riding a GP18 Ducati and the team have also confirmed they'll remain with the Borgo Panigale factory for those two years.

Abraham’s debut in the World Championship was in 2005 in the 125cc World Championship and after two seasons he moved up to 250s. In 2010, the same year Moto2™ made its debut, the Czech rider had a strong season, ending the year with a podium finish in Japan and a win in Valencia.

His debut in MotoGP™ was in 2011 on a Ducati and he completed five seasons before moving to World Superbike. Abraham then came back to MotoGP™ in 2017 and showed his skill once again at the Argentine GP with front row start and top 10 result in the race.

"I’m very happy to see Karel Abraham joining our team," says Raúl Romero, the CEO of Esponsorama. "He is a hard worker, has won in Moto2, and has a lot of experience in MotoGP and with Ducati. I think that with better material and with the work of the whole team, next year Karel will be able to show its true potential. And I’m also happy to announce that we will continue with Ducati for two more seasons."
