Speed Up Racing have announced the signature of current Moto3™ World Championship rider Fabio Di Giannantonio for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. The Italian rider will race alongside Spaniard Jorge Navarro in 2019, who signed for the team earlier on this season.
Born in Rome in 1998, Di Giannantonio made his World Championship debut in 2015 and is currently in third place in the Moto3™ standings, having won his maiden Grand Prix in the Czech Republic this season. Now, the Italian will make the step up to Moto2™ as he continues his path to the premier class.
Fabio Di Giannantonio: “First of all I wanted to thank Luca for giving me this opportunity that I have sought and wanted. I'm happy and ready to start this new adventure! The Moto2™ is a demanding category and at the beginning it will take me some time to adapt, but the desire to learn is so great and I'm sure the team can help me! Now I have the last 5 races of this 2018, I will give my best to try and make the champion jump!”
