Overnight rain once again left the Sepang International Circuit damp but with the sun shining, the track was drying. This meant the times were gradually getting quicker as the session ticked on and it was Viñales who set the fastest lap on his final lap. Rossi remained second as ‘The Doctor’ goes in search of his first podium since the German GP from P2 on the grid, with Jack Miller (Alma Pramac Racing) completing the top three.
2018 Champion Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) was fourth quickest, he’ll start P7 after being handed a six-place grid penalty for irresponsible riding in qualifying, with Jorge Lorenzo’s replacement Michele Pirro (Ducati Team) completing the top five in Warm Up.
The weather looks set to play its part when the MotoGP™ riders go racing at 13:00 local time. Check out the updated Sunday schedule for all the race times!
