Marquez 0.805 clear in rain-soaked Valencia Warm Up

2018 Champion dominated Sunday morning proceedings to head Aleix Espargaro and Rossi ahead of the final race of the year

After dislocating his shoulder yesterday, Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) shrugged off any signs of an injury to go 0.805 quicker than anyone else in morning Warm Up at the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana. His 1:40.154 beat second place Aleix Espargaro’s (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini) 1:40.959 as the two Spaniard’s set the only 1:40s, with Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) P3 – 0.955 back from Marquez as the Italian starts P16 for the final race of 2018.

Danilo Petrucci (Alma Pramac Racing) was fourth fastest, can he grab a podium or even a maiden win on his last rider for the team? While teammate Jack Miller completed the top five, with Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) ending the morning in P13 ahead of his farewell MotoGP™ ride.

Andrea Iannone (Team Suzuki Ecstar) crashed early on in the session – rider ok.

So that’s it, everything is now done as we gear up for the final race of 2018. A wet Valencia GP is in store, so we could see an unexpected winner emerge as we also say goodbye to several riders. Make sure you don’t miss the 2018 curtain closer, as lights go out at 14:00 local time (GMT +1).
