P1 for Perez in FP3, Canet quickest overall

No time improvements were made from FP2 in the Moto3™ class as the Q1, Q2 lineups are confirmed

After no time improvements were made in Moto3™ FP3, FP2 leader Aron Canet (Sterilgarda Max Racing Team) sits top of the standings heading into qualifying, 0.595 clear of second fastest overall Romano Fenati (Snipers Team).

Windy conditions greeted the lightweight class for their first Saturday session of the year, with no one being able to improve their times from Friday, so it’s as you were after FP2 as the top 14 all automatically get a shot in Q2. This means Niccolo Antonelli (SIC58 Squadra Corse) is third heading into qualifying, with Andrea Migno (Bester Capital Dubai) and the injured Gabriel Rodrigo (Kömmerling Gresini Moto3) completing the top five.

Jakub Kornfeil (Redox PrüstelGP) sits sixth fastest, the Czech rider heading Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Leopard Racing), Tony Arbolino (Snipers Team), Kazuki Masaki (BOE Skull Rider Mugen Race) and Sama Qatar Angel Nieto Team’s Albert Arenas to complete the top ten.

Kaito Toba (Honda Team Asia) secures an automatic Q2 place in P11, he heads FP3’s fastest man Vicente Perez (Reale Avintia Arizona 77) in P12. The two remaining automatic Q2 spots go to reigning Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Champion Can Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and SKY Racing Team VR46’s Dennis Foggia – the latter crashing in FP3, rider ok.

Filip Salac (Redox PrüstelGP) also crashed, the Czech rider heading to the medical centre before going to the hospital for further examination.

So the first Moto3™ Q1, Q2 places have been decided. Catch Q1 at 17:30 local time (GMT+3) to see who can grab a spot in Q2, which goes green at 17:55.
