Bagnaia feiert ersten GP-Sieg – für sich und für Mahindra

Francesco Bagnaia und Mahindra sind Grand Prix Sieger: Der Italiener vom ASPAR Mahindra Team Moto3 setzte sich im Dutch GP auf dem TT Circuit Assen in der Moto3™ Klasse in einem spannenden Thriller gegen Fabio di Giannantonio (Gresini Racing Moto3) und Andrea Migno (SKY Racing Team VR46) im Fotofinish durch.

Es war einmal mehr Moto3-At-Its-Best: Rund 15 Piloten kämpfen nahezu die gesamte Renndistanz über um den Sieg. Im Ziel lag Bagnaia 0,039 Sekunden vor di Giannantonio. Mignos Teamkollege Romano Fenati verpasste das Podest um 66 Tausendstelsekunden.

Hinter den beiden SKY Racing VR46 Piloten kam das Ongetta-Rivacold Team geschlossen an: Niccolò Antonelli und Jules Danilo holten die Ränge fünf und sechs, Nicolo Bulega wurde Siebter. 0,013 Sekunden hinter ihm sah Joan Mir vom Leopard Racing Team das Ziel.

Local Hero Bo Bendsneyder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) wurde Neunter, Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Estrella Galicia 0,0) Zehnter. Philipp Öttl (Schedl GP Racing) verpasste die Top Ten als Elfter knapp.

WM-Leader Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) hatte lange an der Spitze mitgemischt, Führungskilometer gesammelt und lag auf Podestkurs. Allerdings machte der Südafrikaner einen Fehler, musste durch die Wiese fahren und kam noch als Zwölfter ins Ziel.

Albert Arenas, Khairul Idham Pawi, Fabio Quartararo, Gabriel Rodrigo, Juanfan Guevara, Aron Canet, Tatsuki Suzuki, Alexis Masbou, Enea Bastianini, Andrea Locatelli und Darry Binder stürzten.

Binder konnte ennoch seinen Vorsprung in der WM auf 48 Punkte ausbauen. Er hat 151 Punkte auf dem Konto und liegt vor Jorge Navarro (Estrella Galicia 0,0 – 103 Punkte), Fenati (93), Bagnaia (79) und Bulega (75).

Lap eight produced yet more drama as Aron Canet (Estrella Galicia 0,0) carried too much speed into the final chicane, forcing Bastianini wide but taking Juanfran Guevara (RBA Racing Team) out of the race. Both riders were able to walk away unharmed.

Alexis Masbou (Peugeot MC Saxoprint) and Tatsuki Suzuki (CIP-Unicom Starker) fell together at Turn 1 on lap 13, the Japanese rider clutching his wrist as he walked away.

Bastianini’s race came to an abrupt end with four laps to go as he tried to force his way through a gap that didn’t exist at Turn 10 on the inside of Bulega. He was frustrated but unharmed.
