Bikesportnews.com is reporting that Movistar Yamaha MotoGP sought assistance from the Yamaha WorldSBK team at Brno, bringing in electronics guru Michele Gadda on “loan” from the sister paddock.
The site reports that the Italian was in the Yamaha garage at the Czech GP and the subsequent test – but that it is a loan. After a season that has seen Michael van der Mark take his first two wins by doing the double at Donington and teammate Alex Lowes take his maiden win at Brno, the team explains it’s more a question of sharing than Gadda having been “stolen” from WorldSBK:
“Michele was working with the MotoGP team at the Brno race and test, as he is a Yamaha engineer and we have a very long summer break,” a Pata Yamaha team spokesman tells BSN. “This doesn’t mean he will go to the MotoGP team, it was more a case of sharing available Yamaha resources.”
