Brothers in arms: Alex writes an open letter to Marc

Moto2™ star Alex Marquez writes a letter of congratulations to older brother Marc Marquez after he sealed title win number 7 in Japan

Current Moto2™ star Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 MarcVDS) has written an open letter to older brother Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team), congratulating him on clinching his seventh World Championship at the Japanese GP.

“Congratulations Marc, congratulations, Level 7 achieved already. Uff, what a career,” the letter begins. The brothers have been huge supporters of each other throughout their racing careers. A particular high point was when both Alex and Marc claimed a Grand Prix World Championship in 2014: the Moto3™ crown was won by Alex in a final showdown at Valencia, with Marc winning his second consecutive MotoGP™ Championship in Japan earlier in the season.

“You have done an excellent year,” continues Alex. “You see in the fact that you are a World Champion with three races left, so it was a year of 10. At all times, you have known what your limit was, where you had to attack, where not…

“They ask me how far you can go. I know how this world is and I dare not tell you anything. But it is true that you are 25 years old and you have already won seven times. I know you have no cap because in Australia you will give more gas than none.”
