Misano: Marc Marquez’ new return date?

According to El Periodico, the eight-time World Champion is going to sit out the next three races, ready for a September comeback

When will Repsol Honda Team’s Marc Marquez return from a second fractured humerus operation? It’s the question on everyone’s lips in the MotoGP™ sphere as we gear up for the Monster Energy Grand Prix České republiky.

The reigning World Champion had his second operation on Monday the 3rd of August after the first metal plate had been damaged, ruling Marquez out of the upcoming Grand Prix in Brno. And after the news, El Periodico, a Barcelona-based newspaper, is reporting that the reigning World Champion isn’t going to return until we head to Misano in September.

This would mean Marquez would miss the two Red Bull Ring races in Austria, as well as the Czech GP – four races missed in total after crashing out of the Spanish GP. HRC test rider Stefan Bradl is already confirmed to be standing in for the number 93 in Brno, but the German could be set for three MotoGP™ races on the spin if Marquez’ reported return date is true.
