Dall’Igna: "If Zarco shows good results, I have to help him"

Ducati Corse General Manager spoke to Crash.net about the prospect of giving Zarco extra support in 2020

Reale Avinita Racing’s Johann Zarco will receive added support from Ducati “if he can do good results,” according to Ducati Corse General Manager Gigi Dall’Inga.

The Italian mastermind, who was instrumental in getting Zarco to sign for Reale Avinita before the winter break, was speaking to Crash.net about the double Moto2™ World Champion and admitted the factory will be able to help Zarco further – but only if the Frenchman can achieve good results on his Desmosedici GP19.

Dall'Igna: "We've developed a completely new chassis"

“It depends on his results," Dall’Igna said. "For me, the important thing is the results. If Johann shows us he can do good results, for sure I have to help him.

“I've done this all my life [for all the riders he's worked with] and I’ll do this also in the future. If I can’t do something like that I will change my job!

“We cannot change [Zarco's] engine, because it’s frozen at the beginning of the season. But I’m open to do the best for him. I’m serious. I'm not joking… I think we have the possibility to do something better for him than work on the aerodynamics.”
