Speaking on the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC)’s new podcast, In the Fast Lane, F1 star Daniel Ricciardo shares his thoughts on compatriot Jack Miller’s move to Ducati Team in 2021.
Ricciardo himself is in the unusual situation where he’s signed for a new team – McLaren – in 2021 without having turned a wheel in anger in 2020, and the Australian draws them parallels with Miller. As a “massive fan” of MotoGP™, Riccardo said “I sent him a stoked for you and excited to see what you can do. When I say ‘what you can do’ I think we all know what he can do but for him to get a better opportunity to be on the podium and get back on the winners box, that’ll be really cool. I’m really stoked for Jack. He’s a good kid and I think he’s really matured a lot and grown, and this is the perfect time for him to get the contract he’s got.”
But the parallels between the two Australians don’t end there. Both have been confined to their respective farms during the lockdown. “It seems like we’re both doing the same thing. I reckon he could nearly pass as a pro motocross rider as well. He is good. He is very good. I’m not surprised.”

Then looking at the difference between life on four wheels and that on two, the F1 driver explained that “those two-wheel guys… I am envious of them because the things they’re able to off-road and on is pretty impressive.”
