It may be less than 48 hours since Marc Marquez went under the knife to plate a fractured right arm, but the reigning world champion is already exploring the possibility of making a sensational comeback at this weekend’s Grand Prix of Andalusia, according to Spanish newspaper El Periódico.

The 27-year spectacularly crashed out of Sunday’s season opener at the Circuit of Jerez-Angel Nieto when chasing second place. An impact with his bike’s front wheel fractured the humerus bone in his right arm as he flew through the gravel.

And while Repsol Honda team boss Alberto Puig has said HRC was unwilling to put a timeframe on Marquez’s recovery, the eight-time world champion is already contemplating travelling to Jerez before FP1 on Friday to assess the possibilities of riding, Emilio Pérez de Rozas writes.
